LCCF LEADERSHIP
Our Owner and Head Coach is Matthias Cormier. He is a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Coach with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Personal Training. Coach Matthias opened Little City Community Fitness in Vergennes in 2021 and has been helping people gain the best fitness of their lives through functional movement training, strength training, weightlifting and lifestyle changes. He is dedicated to helping athletes find joy in trying new physical challenges.
As the Head Coach of our competitive USAW Buffalo Head Barbell Club, Coach Matthias coaches athletes competing at the state, regional, national and international levels. He leads our LCCF coaching staff of certified USA Weightlifting and personal trainers.
Coach Matthias is the 2024 New England WSO Champion. He has coached New England WSO medalists, the 2023 USAW Master’s National Champion and the 2025 UMWF 2nd Place World Champion.
Laura Matuszak is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Saint Michael’s College. Coach Laura began her coaching career in 1997 as a USA Swimming Coach for Green Mountain Aquatics Swim Team. In 2010, she began coaching CrossFit at Champlain Valley Community Fitness. In 2022, Laura joined the coaching staff at Little City Community Fitness as a community fitness class coach, personal trainer and strength coach. As an LCCF coach, Coach Laura works to build a STRONG community and is on a mission to create an inspiring atmosphere in which people of all ages can consistently achieve new levels of fitness and health. She strives to uphold the LCCF values of strength, professionalism, perseverance, compassion and community. As a personal trainer, Coach Laura empowers people in pain to attain sustainable fitness for dynamic lives and guides athletes with meaningful goals to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.
IIn 2025, Coach Laura won 2nd Place at the United Masters Weightlifting Federation World Championship Meet. She is also the 2023 USA Weightlifting Master’s Champion and the 2025 New England WSO Master’s Champion. She is a proud member of the Buffalo Head Barbell Club at LCCF and has a goal to continue competitive weightlifting in 2026 to achieve a 65 kilo snatch, an 85 kilo clean and jerk and a total of at least 140.
